We received the following message from the International Mesothelioma Interest Group this week to advise that the iMig meeting due to be held in Brisbane in March has been postponed until 2021.
The 2019 Asbestos Safety Conference was held at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre in November 2019. A great choice of venue, located on the waterfront in Perth.
The Asbestos Safety Conference in Perth in November 2019 provided a valuable opportunity for the various asbestos support groups from all around Australia to meet up face to face to exchange news and make plans for 2020.
The Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency (ASEA) was established in July 2013 to provide a national focus on asbestos issues. It worked with state and territory governments to produce a National Strategic Plan for Asbestos Management and Awareness to ensure that right around Australia, people can work together to reduce the risks posed by asbestos. The aim of the plan is to work towards the ultimate elimination of asbestos-related disease.
