Live on Air at Radio PBA-FM 89.7

AVA received a warm welcome from the lovely people at Radio PBA-FM 89.7 when we joined Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge and Deputy Mayor Julie Woodman to speak about our upcoming Memorial Day.

We appreciate the support we get from Salisbury Council to make this an inclusive event. Of course, we also took the opportunity to spread the word about asbestos; to talk to listeners about where it can be found in a home and what action to take.

Asbestos Memorial Day ceremony will be held at Pitman Park Salisbury on Friday 29 November from 10.30 to 11.30 am. All are welcome to attend.

MBA Building & Home Improvements Show

This is a popular Home Show with many different exhibitors. It’s also a good opportunity for AVA to talk to tradies and DIYers about asbestos awareness. The asbestos sample display often sparks interest as people realise they may have had the products in their own homes. Quite a few wanted to talk about asbestos disease and we heard stories of family members who had been affected.

South East Field Days at Lucindale SA – 15 & 15 March 2019

AVA loves country field days! We spent Friday and Saturday at the South East Field Days in Lucindale talking to people about the hazards of asbestos – it is always interesting to hear people’s stories. We had a lot of fun with so many children coming to the stand for the Yakka Trail.

Asbestos Victims Association will be at the South East Field Days

AVA volunteers will have a stand at the South East Field Days at Lucindale on Friday and Saturday this week – that’s Friday March 15 & Saturday 16 March. Stop by and see us if you have any concerns at all about asbestos. This year Sue from South East Asbestos will be joining us – a good opportunity for some hands on advice. We will be participating in the children’s Yakka trail and hope to see you there.
